Abstract
The author made an investigation or liver clonorchiasis infections among 1, 060 patients registered at TB clinic of Pusan Chapter of the Korean National Tuberculosis Association during 7 months from May 1983 and concluded as follows. 1) As a w hole the positive rate of clonorchis ovium on stool sample examination by cellophan paper cover thick slide method was 11.42% and the positive rate of clonorchis skin test was 20.94%. 2) Among non-TB. control group, that were 10.42% and 18. 23% each, among pulmonary TB. patients group, that were 11. 79 % and 21. 54% each respectively. Those rates were slightly higher among TB. patients group but not significant degree as yet. 3) There were some parallelism between the infection rates of clonorchiasis and the sizes of pulmonary TB. lesions as the patients with minimal lesions showed 9.83% positive ovium , among moderately advanced ones 11. 29% and far advanced 13.33% respectively. 4) However, there were no significant differences between the patients with positive sputums and with negatives in the poistive rate of ova or skin test as there were found to be 11. 54 % against 11. 78% and 20. 19% against 23.56% respectively. 5) Since we have presently a simple and very effective means of treatment of clonorchiasis and the diagnosis of this disease is simple indeed, it will be highly recomme nàed to look for aclonorchiasis in early phase of TB. management at clinics where it is prevalent as Pusan area.
