Abstract
Forty one cases of confirmed bronchiectasis were studied as to the coexistence of sinusits. Sinusitis was detected in 28 out of 41 patients with bronchiectasis (68.3%) and it was coexisted more frequently in cases of long history and of bilateral in volvement of bronchiectasis. Cough and expectoration were more prominent in sinusitis group comparing with the othergroup, but no differences were noted by sputum bacteriological examination between two groups. On this study, conclusion cannot be made whether the sinusitis was secondary to the bronchiectasis or Vice Versa. But it is sure that bronchiectasis and sinusitis may influence the occurrence of other disease each other. Here, we are emphasizing the necessity of routine examination for sinuses in the case of bronchiectasis.
