Abstract
The first pulmonary interstitial fibrosis is appeared to be reported by Hamman and Rich in 1944. Then, many similar reports had been made. Smith (1963) had reported radiation pneumonitis and its consequent fibrosis of the lung. Davies (1969) made a review of drug-induced lung disease, and well summarized its mechanism. Bleomycin, Cytoxan , 5-FU and methotrexate have been studied in repeated administration up to 4th week. Author made a study on interstitial fibrosis of rats, and obtained the followings: 1) Throughout the experiment five rats died without definite causes. 2) Patho logic findings of removed lung showed no evidence of interstitial fibrosis.
