Abstract
Though the appearance of the multiple antituberculous drugs marked a great epoch in human combat with tuberculosis, still another problem associated with development of the mutant bacilli are we faced with. The author examined the pathogenesis and changes in resistancy after animal passage, by inoculating INH-resistant and INH and SM resistant strains of the bovine type of Mycobacterium tuberculosis to rabbits and guinea pigs. 1. The pathogenesis of the resistant strain, especially of the INH-resistant strain, is much attenuated as compared with that of the control strain. 2. The rate of finding bacteria in isolation culture, is 100% in the control group, while the rate is only 40% in the resistant group. 3. The changes in resistancy of the bacilli on isolating culture, is hardly observed in the S-M resistant group, while marked loss of resistant was observed in the INH resistant group.
